Digital inclusion is not just about the ability to use technology. It is also about access and affordability. ACCAN has called for no Australian to be left offline with the release of the Australian Human Rights Commission report, Human Rights and Technology.

The report details the Australian Human Rights Commission’s support for a concessional broadband rate for low-income households ensuring internet access becomes more affordable.

The concessional broadband rate has been recommended to NBN Co for people with disability who are financially vulnerable. People with disability are less likely to be digitally included, yet, they spend a greater amount of their household income on internet access.
