New Zealand’s work to break down digital barriers in seniors has won the 2021 IDC Smart City Asia Pacific Awards in their education category.
The training program, delivered by Digital Inclusion Alliance Aotearoa and the 20/20 Trust, was funded through the 2019 Wellbeing Budget and helps a diverse range of older people develop crucial digital skills.
The international recognition has been applauded by Minister for Seniors, Dr. Ayesha Verrall. “Our modern society is dependent on technology, even more so over the last year because of COVID-19. But sadly some older people are digitally excluded.”
Leep provides digital mentoring programs for older Australians like our New Zealand counterpart because we believe they are essential to ensure digital inclusion for all.
