A new hub hopes to bridge the digital divide in regional Victoria. The co-working space and digital hub is part of the Victorian Government’s initiative to assist those in the community to improve their digital literacy.
The project, backed by the Regional Digital Fund, gives users access to a space with fast Internet and more mobile phone coverage. Here, locals are given a comfortable and efficient space to work.
More projects will be rolled out across Victoria in places like Barwon, Gippsland and Golburn. Minister for Regional Development, Mary-Anne Thomas, highlights the need for hubs like these: “where you live shouldn’t be a barrier to your participation in the digital world.”
