Government Urged to Address the Digital Divide

The Charities Crisis Commission recently sent a letter to the Prime Minister and Digital Economy Minister, Senator Jane Hume, which urges the government to take action to improve digital inclusion across Australia as well as support digital transformation in the charity sector.

The letter highlights that Australians who are unable to use digital technologies find it difficult participating in economic and social life. This has become increasingly apparent as COVID-19 has forced a large number of businesses and government services to be moved online.

It is critical for the federal government to “leverage development of the Digital Australia Strategy and accelerate action to address digital inclusion across Australia.”
