KISA – The Simple Solution to Everyday Problems

Firstly, a caveat: this is not an ad, and we have no ties to KISA – we simply think they are wonderful phones that are easy to use. Designed in Australia, KISA (Keeping It Simple Always) phones are the perfect solution for those who are unable to use smartphones and who struggle with technology. With no screen, digital menus or dial pads, KISA phones were designed for very young children, seniors, those who suffer from arthritis or dementia, and the visually impaired. KISA also has a braille phone.

Each phone is made to order, with a choice of up to ten pre-programmed contact buttons, which are printed with large text and/or images of those you most need to contact (family, friends, doctor, etc). Other features include a GPS location service and a large Emergency Services SOS button. The back of the phone can be customised to include important medical and emergency contact information.

All KISA phones have a built-in loudspeaker to rectify the all-too common “it’s too quiet” issues, and come with a charging cradle so that they can be easily charged, even by those with limited dexterity.

Another bonus — the Kisa phones are multicultural meaning you can have any language on your phone. We spoke with one of the founders, Dmitry, whose passion is clearly evident. “Kisa’s vision is to create a simple, easy to use mobile phone service and finally make mobile technology accessible to everyone.”

You can find out more about the KISA phone online here. They’re also on YouTube with informative instruction videos.

Fun Fact: Dmitry let us know that Kisa was on Shark Tank and we’ve found the clip on YouTube. Watch it here.
