Service NSW has unveiled a new COVID Check-In Card, in a move backed by NSW Digital and Customer Service Minister Victor Dominello.
Residents can register for a card which they can use to check-in at supermarkets and other essential retail. This marks a fantastic alternative to signing in via paper if they are without a smartphone.
Potential card users can download and print their card or have a copy mailed from Service NSW. Registration can be completed both online and using the Service NSW app.
While this is a step in the right direction, it is important to note that the NSW government has not mandated businesses to possess a QR-compatible device, meaning pen-and-paper check-in, or the Service NSW app may still be required for some businesses.
