During bushfire season you may have heard of, or been recommend to use, the app Fires Near Me from the NSW Rural Fire Service and NSW State Emergency Service (SES).
The app has now been expanded and renamed to Hazards Near Me, and now includes flood alerts from the NSW SES, as well as fire and other hazard alerts, including:
- Severe weather
- Tsunami
More hazards will be added soon.
Users can set up watch zones to receive notifications about incidents in their local area.
If you had Fires Near Me already installed on your device, you don’t need to uninstall it. However, you may need to update the app to Hazards Near Me in the AppStore for Apple users and on Google Play for Android users.
